Veterinary Permission -
As an E.B.W I am aware of the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 to protect the welfare of sick and injured animals from treatment by unqualified persons that makes it illegal for anyone other than a qualified veterinary surgeon to diagnose an ailment or prescribe treatment. Prior permission from the veterinarian usually responsible for the animal must be obtained before body work can commence. Massage is never a replacement for proper veterinary care.
• Horses with sudden extreme changes to behavioral patterns.
• Protocol on pregnant mares.

• Horse on heavy medication, protocol (drugs will mask a problem)
• A dehydrated horse.
• Any undiagnosed lumps or swellings.
• A horse that is not eating.
• A horse that has just eaten hard feed.
