At the end of the EBW session I will already have completed Stage 1 of the saddle fit and have palpated the shoulder and back area of the horse to ascertain if there is any muscular tension conducive to saddle fit and any related factors including conformation, farriery, working condition, muscular imbalances etc.
I will then complete the remaining 4 Stages to assess saddle fit at that time.
2) An evaluation is made of the saddle off the horse.
3) An evaluation of the saddle is made on the horse.
4) An evaluation on the saddle is made and of the rider when mounted and stationary.
5) An evaluation on the saddle is made and of the rider when moving.
If the saddle does not fit
- A saddle template will be made (complexity dependent of horse or pony conformation andmusculature) and demonstrated.
- Advice offered on the correct length, width, cut and range of makes of saddle suitable for the horse or pony and its training needs
- Saddle pad /numnah or girth advise provided
- Re flocking service offered or girth strap / billet work
A further appointment will be provisionally booked to return to fit any new or second hand saddles provided by the owner. Saddle fitting Stages 2 to 5 will be repeated with all saddles provided to find the “best fit” saddle at that point in time.

At your yard stages 1 to 5 of Saddle Fitting will be completed

Paperwork regarding the fit of the existing saddle and its relation to both the horse and rider will be completed and a copy of this paperwork provided at the end of the session.
